Present: Jean, Lepeti, Gordon, Amanda and Cheryl

1. Amanda has been taking over the reigns while Cheryl away. Several emails and items have been received.

Minutes of Meeting
18Th March, 2009

6.15 pm-7.30pm
RSA Rooms McKillop Street, Porirua

1. Present: Margaret and Roy Hughes, Jean Taylor, Henry Smith, Lepeti Tea, Amanda Phear, Cheryl Brown

2. Apologies: Liz Kelly, Ken Douglas, Gordon Cameron, Shirley Redpath, John Clyma

3.. Confirmation of minutes of previous meeting. Jean Taylor, Henry Smith

4. Matters arising. Update on Shell Service station and turning into Mungavin Ave. Lepeti and Liz met with Anita Smith from Shell. Shell feel that they have done all they can and complied with regulations. They are supportive but feel they can do no more. Mark Kairua has been supportive but there seems to be nothing he can do. Members are concerned that this is getting worse.

Lepeti wrote to Mark Kiarua expressing our concerns again.

Action: Henry to take our concerns to PCC.
Cheryl to contact Kris Dando again.
Possible boycott of Shell.

Cheryl thanked RSA by phone, Meeting dates set: June 9th, August 4th and November 11th.
Action: Cheryl to contact RSA.

5. Correspondence:
Out: PCC Grant Application
Letter to Mark Kairua.
Email Anita Smith (Shell).

In: Digital Strategy: Response. Not accepted. Cheryl to make a start herself on these stories, when she can.
Anita Smith emails.
Letter re speed bumps in Awatea and Arawhata. Exec met and wrote to Mark Kairua seeking more speed bumps.
Toilets in Mungavin: Cheryl to contact Francis Campkin, PCC with our feedback.
Green Party: RMA changes. Those who wish to make a personal response to do so or contact Cheryl

6. Report from the treasurer:
• current balance and expenditure: $157.76.
• membership fees (please pay your fess for this year). Jean to action

8. Report from the secretary
• new members none.
• Lepeti been busy contacting Mark Kairua and meeting with Shell people.

9. Village Plan. Amanda has developed a survey. Lepeti, Amanda and Cheryl to complete and send to members. Henry volunteered daughter, others to drop off when can. Cheryl to drop off at Library, Jean ask Kindergarten, Chemist and Kindy drop offs. Also 41 Awatea and 2 Earnest Street letterboxes, Margaret to take around Neighbourhood Support area.
Pay for photocopy and get money from Jean. Date for feedback also to be agreed.


10. General business

Drains – need cleaning before winter. Henry to email forms to Margaret and Lepeti. Cheryl to look online.
Parking outside Fire Station and opposite school grounds bad with touch rugby and soccer. Damaging the berm. Action? Henry?

Fence beside school looks ugly and untidy. Henry to take to Council?

Next meeting: 5th June, 2009 at RSA. 6.15 pm.

Meeting closed at 7.10 pm.
